INSTRUCTIONS:

Over the past month, you have been interacting with a number of people in an online game refered to as Polymagic_U.  Through this you've had the chance to get a little bit of a feel for them, and may have formed some impressions of who the people on the other side of the screen may be.  Now I'd like to find out how much you've intuited from that experience.  You are about to be asked a series of demographics questions asking you to identify such things as the age, race, and gender of a few of the players you have been participating in Polymagic_U with.  Even though you haven't been given this information at any point, please answer every question with your best guess, based off of those impressions you've formed.

At the beginning of each page, you'll be given the name and LJ identity of the character, and a sample of their writing to remind you who you are being asked about.  Then you will be given multiple choice questions asking you to give me their basic demographic identity.

Remember, you're being asked to guess who the PLAYER is, not the character!

EXAMPLE:

CHARLES CARROLL (charlescarroll):

I met with the FBI agent today.  Seemed like a nice enough guy.  We talked a good deal about the FBI, my interest in joining it.  This guy knew about the Magical Enforcement branch, so that was helpful.  He had some good suggestions regarding my class load.  He found the Necromancy lecture particularly interesting. Wanted to know if I had a photo of the prof.

Unfortunately, he didn't know how the Bureau even knew of my interest.  He simply got sent info on me from the Regional Office.  They had the usual stuff you would expect.  Place of birth, age, name, family, place of residence, all that.  But he'd also gotten a file on me describing personality things that would take direct observation.  Mentioned that I was "responsible" and "kept an eye on my sister."

Okay, how would they know the personal stuff like that?  Something's seriously fishy here.

QUESTION 1 AGE:  charlescarroll's Author is

The correct answer is 36-45

While Charles is 20, he's written by a 36 year old.  Since we want to know about Charles' author, not about Charles himself, answering 19-25 would be incorrect.

Remember, while all of these questions do have an actual answer, the point is not to find out if you know it, it's to find out what impression these authors have given you as to who the person behind the character might be.
